After the death and removal of a magnificent silver maple tree that towered over this quiet Georgetown garden, the owner sought to create a pool garden to restore tranquility to the area once occupied by the tree.
A carefully detailed louvered fence encircles the area while allowing air movement, and a columned pergola provides a place of repose looking back over the pool and garden. In the pool itself, black plaster and dark green marble tile give an emerald color to the water. Dark gray flagstone paving surrounds the pool and links it to the flagstone paving around the house.
